NEWS FROM MANSERGH HALL ORGANIC FARM
2 of James’ sows had 18 piglets at the end of October - all doing
well and happy.
Those of you who have visited the shop in October will have seen
fencing being erected along the sides of the stream that runs
through the fields to the front of the house. This stream is a
tributary of the River Lune and the fencing has been placed here and
on the banks of the River to protect the bio-diversity of this
tributary and the River Lune. The fencing has been done in
partnership with the Lune Habitat Group.
It doesn’t seem long since I wrote about finishing the hedging for
the spring and now it is about to start again for winter. Lets hope
winter seems to go as quickly.
Our lamb will soon start to eat the kale and turnip crops that you
may recall being planted earlier in the year.
