| NEWS FROM THE FARM We have
collected most of the silage now, in between down pours! We have one
field left to mow and collect, but the rain is keeping us away from
this field.
The wet weather has obviously taken its toll on the land, we have
streams where there aren’t usually streams in June/July - come back
summer!!
James has been busy pasture topping to control thistles. In order
to stop them spreading this needs to be done just before the
thistles seed. This weakens the thistles and if it rains (HA. HA!)
this can kill them as the roots rot.
Poppy the pig had 10 piglets in June, all doing well and happy in
their new home (pig paradise). When you visit the shop you may
see 11 piglets who have taken to playing with the sheep to the front
of the garden - they are really enjoying them selves and are truly
free-range!
