Where do you cook?

To prevent the delicious cooking smells permeating your entire day, we cook on site at the farm in our purposely converted dairy. We ensure that we maintain a safe temperature and bring the cooked pig, lamb or beef joints to your venue where we continue, and the case of the pork to simply perfect the crackling. The site we cook in, as well as all elements of our service, are registered and inspected by our local environmental health department. We have on-site walk in cold-rooms to ensure our produce is kept exactly as it should at all times and keep full records of chilled temperatures and cooking temperatures. Remember to always find out when you make enquires – where is the produce stored and cooked – you’d be surprised!!

How long does it take to cook?

Well, this depends on what we’re cooking, but a pig generally takes between 12 and 17 hours. This is another reason we don’t cook at your venue. 12 to 17 hours cooking smell can be a bit much, but as we arrive when you want us to you are able to savour the delicious smell when you and your guests are ready!

Do you have a vegetarian option?

Yes, we are delighted to be able to offer individual artisan tartlets made locally especially for your event.

Do you do accompaniments?

Yes, we provide homemade Bramley Apple Sauce and Sage and Onion stuffing, as well as all kinds of condiments – just let us know what you’d like. The bread rolls we use are made to order by a local bakery.

We work with excellent caterers who have created wonderful salads and dishes to complement our hog, lamb or beef roasts. Delicious desserts can also be provided along with cheese boards if you wish. We have worked with our caterers numerous times and we work seamlessly together so on the day just leave us to it and enjoy the event!

You may also wish to do the salads yourself – no problem. Just point us in the right direction and we will happily set these out for you.
